Idiots. I drive to the Best Buy specifically to talk with a salesperson about a GoPro. While I did online research I wasn’t sure if the one I wanted had wifi. Walked in, stood around lookIng at the GoPros while 4 experts stood gabbing. Went up to one asking for help. Was told that my particular model did have wifi (carton wasn’t helpful), bought it, got home and no wifi capability. Drove back to BB, spoke to a manager who also insisted it had wifi. Took the unit out, read the instructions and nope, no wifi. No «sorry» or any lame attempt at taking even partial blame. Wasted trip. Went home and ordered the right one from Amazon.

Horrible customer service by Jeff!
Apparently if you ask .jeff to help you expect a half azz answer!
So here is how the situation happened today July 22, 2014 at approximately 6:00pm at the Best Buy near Southpoint mall.
me.“Excuse me, can you tell me if you still have this computer?
Jeff.(who was opening a bock of recently arrived stock) «Its on clearance and we probably don’t «
me. «I checked online before coming out to this store and it said you had a few.»
Jeff.“I can go check»…(a few minutes later)… «The system says we have two in stock, but they are probably up high on the storage shelf» (then Jeff turns away from me and continues cutting open boxes on his pallet of inventory he apparently was to stock the shelves with)
Me… (looking at this employee and speechless at this point as to why he did not go get the computer I was planning to purchase.) (I had to walk away, now I have an urge to go the range!)

The most unfriendly best buy I have been to. Nobody wanted to help here, it took me an hour to get a fitbit. I don’t think it should take anybody that long to get a fitbit, one does give up on exercising. They need to hire some upbeat people, you walk in and are drained of your energy here.

Brandon and I came here for Black Friday to get him a new phone! He ended up finding one he liked and we were in and out of the store within 25 minutes which was awesome!!! Unfortunately the phone he picked ended up having something wrong with it where it kept shutting down for no reason so we had to go back to Best Buy Saturday to replace it. He didn’t keep the receipt but had no problems exchanging it, and again this process took no longer than 25 minutes which was incredible with the number of people in there. We were both impressed with the service esp this time of year and without a receipt!

OMG. These guys are so incompetent it’d be funny if it was a TV show. However, living it in real life — it’s just frustrating and depressing.
I don’t know much about car stereos, so I figured people here would and they could recommended the correct stereo and speakers, in stall it and I’d be done.
I kept getting the wrong advice about a purchase, someone would disagree and I’d have to return what had just been recommended. Then another person would tell me that in fact that too was the wrong component.
No one knows what they are doing. Every purchase-return takes an infuriating amount of time. After almost two days of this, I still ended with a half-working system.
It was very expensive and the workmanship was shotty. This is a one star easy.

Do not bother trying to make an appointment to get anything installed or fixed. We bought a XM satellite radio at another location in SC. The install worked fine for all of about a week before we started having major problems including frayed wires sticking out of the dash. They have a «lifetime guarantee» on their work if you can ever make an appointment to get them to look at it. When I’ve called this location and other local locations my hold time has been over 10 minutes a call before I finally gave up and hung up… and I called during typically slow times of the day. Finally went up there to try to get it resolved, they said I needed an appointment and it’d be better to call back to schedule it since the sales person I spoke with had no idea when the install person would be available and when I asked if he could find out, he disappeared and never returned. I’m beyond irritated with this company since it seems to be universal that they lack customer service, don’t do a decent job the first time, and make it impossible to do business with them.

This is why they’re going out of business. We made an appointment to have a new car stereo installed this morning at 10. We waited 45 minutes out in the sun in the back of the store. The staff kept telling us that the installer would be there in 5 minutes and that he was the only one who could open the door for us. Finally, after 45 minutes they told us that he was coming from Fayetteville and wouldn’t be here for another half hour and we could continue to wait outside. We left and are bringing back the stereo we bought there. I will never buy another thing from this store and if you are interested in customer service, I would urge you not to either.

I have a love/hate relationship with Best Buy. My most recent visit involved a new TV after months of shopping online and getting frustrated. A manager helped me select the model I wanted and was oh so helpful and I unfortunately cannot remember his name!
I then had to get on the phone with my partner who was doing the internet research and was then helped by another employee who was NOT so helpful. He said they did not have the TV which was on the floor on display with no indication that it was not in stock.
After I recruited some other employees to help with the search the last one was located and I went home very happy with my purchase.

Lowering a star because I did a better job of cleaning my computer post-virus problems than they did (I found viruses (that I was able to remove) in the backup I bought from them that they did not remove when I brought it in for fixing).

Good selection. Has helped with filling out the new house. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Can’t really speak as to the Geek Squad service as I do all my own stuff like that. But guessing they probably have access to more repair resources then smaller computer repair shops like Intrex. And of course they do installs.

I must first preface that I am usually not a fan of Best Buy. Most of the stuff in the stores are seriously overpriced. If you are willing not to succumb to instant gratification, I recommend
etc.
However, this time around I was lured to Best Buy Mobile by the low price in the Droid Pro on a contract renewal. Fully expecting to by hounded by a salesperson attempting to upsell me on text messaging, accessories, and insurance, I was pleasantly surprised that none of that happened. The salesperson walked me through the renewal process and phone setup, all without the annoyances of a packed VZW store. The only thing BB couldn’t figure out was the text messaging add-on.
Assuming pricing is comparable with the VZW store, I would probably come back to Best Buy Mobile again. Although I would recommend going to VZW if you have technical or billing issues, but BB Mobile’s sales process was phenomenal. 4 stars.

I’m going to make this more of a Magnolia review, as purchasing the regular stuff from Best Buy is pretty standard. You are going to get ripped versus ordering it online, but you kind of know that going in and you don’t want to wait for it. Now in the case of the Magnolia center I do have to give them credit for having well educated sales people, at least the one we dealt with.
So my dad decided he wanted to go get a new receiver and 65″ TV. After researching the best pricing online on the models in question after our initial visit. I headed out to help him negotiate the best deal possible. My dad has an unnatural fear of ordering stuff off the internet. I’m not sure if there is a term for this, but there should be and it seems to be a terminal condition. So we have a receiver that is marked $ 900 higher than the best price I could find from an authorized reseller. The TV is $ 500 higher, as it’s a brand new 3d model and doesn’t offer much of a discount yet. He also wants to get a stand and some speakers. The speakers are a boutique brand, so hard to get an accurate pricing idea. I would assume around 50% on speakers and stand, as they have some of the highest margins. So he even goes for the top protection plan on the tv (I think another $ 600). I’m thinking we should be able to get him a decent deal, boy was I wrong… They knock 400 off the receiver and that’s it, this is on a bill for $ 8 grand after the reduction! I would think at least 10%…hell they send me coupons in the mail for that much off all the time, no dice. He’s just ready to be done with the whole shopping ordeal and signs the paper work. Best Buy-1 Pops and me-0
I will also add, I expected them to be hard-asses to begin with, as I previously went in to buy a different receiver from the Magnolia center in Brier Creek a few months before. I had even brought in the printouts for the price match (b&m and authorized reseller). I couldn’t get them to come anywhere near the price, they just wouldn’t do it and didn’t care to get the business. I was in a bind at the time, so I said fine. Well then they go to pull the receiver from the back, turns out they don’t have the two in inventory they said they did when I got there! So he offers me the floor model and says he can knock off another $ 50, I say fine. So then he goes to check it out and the manager says he can’t do the extra $ 50 off. This is after the sales guy has already offer it to me! I guess they just don’t really care to make the sale or build a customer relationship. I should probably write a separate review for the Brier Creek location as I can’t even give those guys two stars.
